We have a new Restaurant and a new winner. The Maple Street Grille located at 165 Maple street in Florence Oregon! I went there last night and had the best Pot Roast I have ever had in my 55 years! I asked the help "what the best seller was at this point"? You guessed it, pot roast. On their small plate menu the Mac and Cheese made with some Bleu Cheese is also supposed to be a winner. Edwin K Bed and Breakfast

Before I moved to Florence a few years ago, this was a favorite Pet Free Smoke Free place that I enjoyed staying at. I visited there recently and found it to be as good if not better than my memories. The home was built in 1914 and moved a few blocks to its present location. If you stay here, I'm sure you can get the inn keepers to fill you in on the interesting details of this historical home. Being located in Old Town its only a couple blocks to to all the action.

NAR's New GREEN Designation

I was just notified that I have earned the GREEN designation. This is the newest designation reconized by the Nation Association of Realtors. I can now assist clients with info on Green home constuction and retrofitting. There are several ratings as to how green a home is. There are tax credit benifits too. This designation does not make me a know it all authority. If you have questions contact me, if I can't answer them, I will find out where the answers are. I believe GREEN is the up and coming direction that we are headed.

Best Thai Cuisine is located at 1565 ninth street in Florence. For the locals we are talking the old Hickories BBQ. A few months back Peggy Hupp the former owner of Sidestreet Bistro took over as the Executive Chef. She has some wonderful menu creations and changed the menu with the seasons. $8,000 Tax Credit for first time home buyers

Now there is a true tax credit for first time home buyers. Unlike the past $7500. credit that had to be paid back. The word on the street is these can be used for down payments on FHA loans. I DON'T give legal advice,so so contact your accountant about this. This new credit has made it possible for buyers to purchase starter homes,thus freeing up cash to sellers who would like to move up in the market! Please help spread the word! I'm getting tired of eating spagetti with no sauce.

Chen's Family Dish

Chen's family dish in Florence Oregon has moved. Chen's just opened May 4Th 2009 in their new location at 3620 hwy 101 (formerly the doll house museum.) What an improvement in location and facility. The building and grounds are nice. Prices have stayed the same. A nice full lunch special can be had for less than $7.00. I didn't realize how much I went there until they closed for a few weeks to make the move. Glad they are Back!

Florence Oregon Rhododendren Festival 2009

Also known as Rhody Days. For 2009 it will be held May 15-17. Our little town of population 8,000 can swell to 40,000 plus. During this time there is something for everyong. The carnival will be here as well as food and craft vendors. The Elks have a great BBQ Chicken dinner not to be missed. Saturday will include a car show as well. If you are a Harley Fan head to bay street. Sunday about noon is the Grand Parade and Grand Finale to the festival. See you there.
